Just a random picture from upstairs cage - they're not forgotten! From left: Steve, Griffin, Frodo, Sir Robin. Frodo's molting after breeding so he's missing some throat spots!

Here we've got from left Ilmari (probably staying), Helmut (staying) and Helmi, who will be going to a new home on tuesday...

And here's Hertta, moving away with Helmi on tuesday and Ilmari again. Ilmari is actually a little smaller, but the picture lies a little.

Babies are actually at this very moment trying to message me it's time to get out! So I need to open the cage door. I've been lately letting themselves figure out the way out of the cage instead of waiting them to hop on a hand and take them out. It takes still some time for them to come out - not that they don't want but it is a little difficult after all to find the door!

At the moment there are 6 chicks in the babycage, All 4 from H-clutch and two from the I-clutch. Helmi and Hertta were supposed to move to a new home already last monday, but because of car trouble they won't be going until next tuesday. And I've thought not to over crowd cage by putting all the chicks there. Why am I putting them in one cage in the first place is that the I babies are a lot calmer with their cousins than with their mom. Their mom Lilja is not scared of a hand, but they are. I suppose 4 other calm birds is better than just one.

Ilmari and Iiris who have now gotten the priviledge to stay in the babycage don't come to a hand very often but can be lifted up from tricky places they end up in without panicking.

I had earlier mentioned and decided too that Helmi and Helmut from H-clutch would be staying. Because I've got so much grey already, I chose the blue birds. But then I got a question for two girls who'd be moving together and I thought maybe it would be nicer with two different colours... so I'm keeping Hedda instead. And she's superpretty and rather big and as lovely natured as Helmi too. Besides after Hedwig moved to her new home, Hertta and Helmi have become good friends. So it's only fair they will be going to the same place.

I-pesueen ipanat ovat aika villejä edelleen, ne eivät asetu yhtään ollessaan äitinsä kanssa ja kaksi poikasta jotka minulla nyt on poikashäkissä H-poikasten kanssa sietävät kättä ja ovat kovasti kiinnostuneita, mutta eivät ole vielä toistaiseksi uskaltaneet kiipeilemään paidoissa tai maistelemaan ruokaa kädeltä kuten serkkunsa tekevät. H-pesueen muut poikaset lentelevät myös tähän pöydän ääreen, tuolin selkänojille, joten reviiriä on pikkuhiljaa alettu laajentamaan. Arimmat H-pesueesta ovat Hertta ja Helmut, mutta reippaita nekin, Heddalla ja Helmillä on kuitenkin ihan eri asteella uteliaisuus ja rohkeus, kuten Hedwigilläkin oli.

H-pesueen kaikki poikaset on siis nyt varattu, kun kotiin jää kaksi. Hedwig muutti jo ennen uutta vuotta aivan ihanaan kotiin kolmen koiraan kaveriksi ja toivon että elo siellä poikien kanssa onnistuu ilman ongelmia! Matka oli pitkä, mutta siitä selvittiin :) Toivottavasti jatkossa etelään meneville löytyisi kaveri mukaan, joka voisi kenties mennä toiseen perheeseen ettei yksin tarvitse reppanoiden matkustaa. Mutta hyvin meni, välillä vähän tylsistymisenmerkkejä havaittavissa pienessä häkissä, ja yksi yökin vietettiin Sotkamossa vanhempieni luona.

Hertta ja Helmi lähtevät tiistaina Luleån kautta Skellefteåån. Päätinkin antaa sinne Helmin Heddan sijasta, ettei ole kahta liki samannäköistä lintua lemmikkinä, se on aina vähän hankalaa, vaikka niillä renkaat onkin. Ja Hedda on tosi kaunis ja enemmän jalostuslintu kenties kuin siskonsa, joka ainakin toistaiseksi on pienempi kooltaan. Ensimmäinen sulkasato tosin kertoisi enemmän, mutta siihen asti ei voi aina odottaa!

Kesän poikasista on myös kaikista kasvanut todella kookkaita hienoja yksilöitä, vaikka poikasena enemmän australiantyypin linnuilta näyttivätkin. Samaa odotan I-pesueen poikasilta jotka ovat aika piskuisia vielä. Tarkoituksena on siirtää viimeisetkin kaksi äidin huostasta poikashäkkiin jahka tilaa tulee lisää. Vaikka saavatkin kaikki päivät lennellä, mutta nukkumapaikat on selkästi jo nyt jäämässä liian vähiin!

Kotia vailla olisivat siis vielä mahdollisesti Iivari, Iines ja Iiris, ja mikäli kaverilintua on vailla, kesän poikasista toinen koiras ja Gwen voidaan antaa myös uusiin koteihin, mikäli tarve on ja sopiva löytyy. Sanon toinen koiras, sillä pidän itse kummamastakin, mutta Griffin on vahva koiras ja Gible seesteisempi.
