Olisi varmaan myös työjuttuja tehtävänä, mutta nyt on blogia laiminlyöty niin pitkään, että täytyy kirjoittaa. Ilmari and Hedda Pesinnät syksyltä ovat tosiaan onnellisesti ohitse, sitä ei aina edes ymmärrä miten ison osan vuotta yksi pesintäjakso kattaa, kun parien muodostamisen jälkeen on ensin odotusaikaa 1-2 viikkoa, jonka jälkeen tulee ensimmäinen muna, tämän jälkeen 3-5 viikkoa munimista ja hautomista, jonka jälkeen tai sen aikana, riippuen miten monta munaa tulee kuorituvat poikaset. Esimerkiksi seitsemän munaa munitaan 14 päivän sisällä ja samoin ne myös kuoriutuvat kahden viikon aikana, kukin 18pv hautomisen päätteksi. Kun viimeinenkin poikanen on kuoriutunut, on aikaa vierähtänyt jo liki kaksi kuukautta, ja tähän lasketaan vielä kaksi kuukautta lisää, ennenkuin on poikasten luovutusaika. Tuona aikana tuoreruokaa valmistetaan päivittäin 1-3 annosta koko 4 kuukauden ajan, siivotaan häkkiä extra kakkapökäleiden ja roiskitun tuoreruoan takia normaalia useammin, ja mikä tärkeintä,

Helmi and Hertta will be leaving tomorrow. Then there are only I-babies left for new homes, and I haven't still yet really decided which ones could be staying, though I might be inclined to find new homes for all of them. Luckily I have no need to replace any of them if I can't find good homes and that's how it should be too. Youngsters found their way upstairs yesterday and I've been bringing them down several times. Now I really need to fix it so that they can't get up, because they don't know how to fly down again. I had previously only let them fly in the diningroom/kitchen and now that the other breedingcage is empty, I've taken the veil off the doorway and they've been able to fly around the whole first floor. The doorways are three doors wide and living room is rather big too so there's plenty of space. I can see that they really enjoy fluttering and soaring, making funny little swings and air-acrobatics. Ilmari is actually a little smaller, but the picture lies a little. Babies are actually at this very moment trying to message me it's time to get out! So I need to open the cage door. I've been lately letting themselves figure out the way out of the cage instead of waiting them to hop on a hand and take them out. It takes still some time for them to come out
